i want to get my stock rims powder coated for winter and figured it would cost a 200 300 bucks. so i started looking up kits to see how much it would cost to do it myself. also i could do a few other things. i found this http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=94244 . so my question is does anybody know of any good kits that you use/ process of doing it ? or am i better of just taking it somewhere?
the problem with that kit is you cant sand blast the part first to get it to bare metal and ready for the powder and you cant bake it on without an oven big enough.

You dont need to sandblast, you can powdercoat chrome just as long as the surface is REAL clean.
A 17 inch wheel will fit in a standard home oven. I have a powdercoater from craftsman...nice lil unit works GREAT. Got it for 50 bucks on clearance, then bought a standard oven on line locally and keep it in the garage. Good luck getting hooked up. Overall its not hard.
