Hi Guys,


I bought a 2005 Ram 1500 4.7l last year. It is missing the airbox and in its place it has one of those fancy chrome pipes with a filter on it. The other end goes into the air hat.

I would like to make it stock again. The problem is I don't know what stock looks like. Can any one help me?

Here's what I know. When I took off the chrome pipe there was a breather tube connected to it. Where does this go? I can follow the tube towards the back of the engine and it Tees into another hose that goes towards the right side of the engine by the brake booster. I read that on some models it could go to the oil filler but I already have a hose that is hooked to the pcv valve which is hooked into the oil filler.

Another thing is the air box. Should the 2005 air box have a nipple on it to connect this hose? If so I got the wrong box from the junk yard, it has no nipple.

Any help would be appreciated

You can go to Google and click on Images and so a search. But why would you want to go back stock? Im sure you could fine parts from some of these guys here who have taken theirs off for better perfomance and mpgs.

I'm sure there are lots of guys that would be willing to sell you their stock airbox for dirt cheap. Most guys end up throwing them away.
I'd check out the forsale section or post up a wanted ad in the forsale section.
Hopefully someone will chime in and PM you about their stock airbox???

What ya gonna do with the CAI you got on there now? It just so happens I have a 2005 1500 4.7L.
