Default No Defrost Air on 2005 Ram 5.7 Hemi

I hope someone here has some clues. I start my truck, turn the selector to defrost and turn the fan on. First I notice the A/C light comes on so I turn that off. Then the only air I get is blowing at me through the vents. None at the windshield. I've removed some of the dash panels to have a look at the various doors that open and close that are in the ductwork and the door behind the glove box works fine. The two doors above and below the heater core also work fine. The remaining two doors I can not see work at all. They are called mode door 1 and mode door 2. I removed the servo motor on mode 1 and switched it with the blend door and found that the motor works okay. Mode door 2 on the other hand needs to have some steel cut out of the way to gain access to it.
What I'm asking is am I on the right track ??? Or could this be a computer problem and if so how can I determine that.

In my 2005 a couple years ago I had the same thing happen. It would stay on AC and I couldn't change it from blowing out the dash vents. The defrost and floor would not work. I had mine done under warranty and they said it was one of the actuators. If I get a chance I will look in my file tonight and see what the exact right up is.
