Default Oil life question

I'm sure some of you will laugh but I want to ask. Does oil go bad just over time? My HEMI sits in the garage looking nice 99.9% of the time. My truck may get 1000 miles a year on it at most. I know that's terrible but I kick around in an F150 that I don't care too much about. While I'm asking what is everyone recommending these days on oil and filter types. Even though I don't use it I do try to use the best when I do things. Thanks in advance for you input...

As with anything, dirt and moisture can be of problems.

I had a Mustang that seen maybe 1,000miles a year as well. That oil got changed first thing every spring and is what i would reccomend for you. i wouldn't just leave the oil in there for years at a time.

As far as oil "breaking down" just sitting there. No. Oil breaks down with Heat.

you should change your oil before you put it away. any crankcase acids built up will not eat your engine parts when it's shut down for the winter or whatever.
