Might be cause I have the Laramie package, no switch, just automatically comes on when I lift the hood.

If I remember tomorrow, I'll trace it and see where it plugs in at...

The switch is inside the plastic bulb case. It's a mercury tilt switch.

All i need to know is where it plugs into? Thanks

You can get lighted cup holders?! WTF, and here I was stoked because I got power windows and mirrors.

Anyways, i'm looking to add some LED's under there since i have things left from when i did my HID retrofit. Was wondering where the plug is?
I do see a plug on the very front of the firewall and it looks like it's capped off. It's to the far left just above the intake box on the conduit tubing.

If I have no hood light, do I still have an actuator switch? I assume if there is a plug then i do have one, but I''m not even sure that plug if for that? Any help would be appreciated.
The plug you have in the photo is the plug for the 'under the hood light'. I was going to get one and I checked the price from the dealer and although I don't remember the exact cost I do remember that it was entirely TOO MUCH so I passed. Seems like it was $40-60 but I really don't remember for sure. For a factory setup there is a light/bracket/mercury switch and a short harness that plugs into the plug you have a photo shown. Originally it is part of a $270 Courtsey Light Package:
(Light Group - $270
Illuminated front ashtray; Engine bay light; Illuminated driver and passenger vanity mirror; Illuminated glove compartment; Computer with average fuel consumption and range for remaining fuel; Garage door opener; Coming home device; Includes: [GNK] Auto-Dimming Rear View Mirror; Excludes: [ALW] Popular Equipment Group )

Thank You Adavery. If you see my links above, the total is about $40 or so plus shipping for a striaght up plug'n'play.

My project is going to be around $30 all said and done. The biggest expense is buying a mercury switch which is like $12 off ebay. Dealer wants $16 for the light/switch combo and another $24 just for the wiring to go 2 foot...lol I don't understand how wiring could be more than the actual switch/light, but never the less it is.

We'll see what happens....Thanks for the info on the harness connector.
