Default Early shifting

So I have had my dodge for a while now, since july, and I have always driven manuals before my truck unless it was my parents vehicles, but I feel like my truck shifts way to soon! it shifts really fast even at wot, I dont even get over 2500 rpms before it shifts unless I shift it myself which I dont like to do, is this because someone before me had a tuner on it and turned the tune down? or am I having an issue? Im asking this because I dont know much about automatic transmissions...

Be sure the bands are into spec. That will cause early shifting since there isn't enough resistance on the plantary gears. Try changing the fluid and filter. If all that doesn't work the governor pressure soleniod may be on its way out.

The truck I have has a shift kit, a deep tranny pan, and a few other things that I havent figured out, so how could that effect it?

Oh yeah, I had all the fluid flushed and changed about 5k miles ago.

That really wouldn't, unless its the shift kit? How is the tranny when you are hard on the throttle? My inlaws chevy shifts early when you are easy on the throttle, its a 89 350 chevy. When they changed the fluid did they adjust the bands. Some places won't touch them.

sorry, I didn't realize you put the WOT in your first post. I would go for the bands. If you can find out the shift kit it has in it, that may give you a lead as to why is does it too.

Why would someone put a shift kit into it that would make it shift too early though?
