Mine went in first try and they were just as quiet if not quieter than the old stockers. Mind you the guy who helped me lets just say this was not his first rodeo.

Now I'm damn sure I should have forked up the money to 4WheelParts after the install to get their 3yr 36kmi labor warranty Think 500mi too late to save my gears if they were off a smiggin ? And they'll probably manage to slap me with some labor costs . . . ?

Well if your lucky you might not have to pay but do not expect it because you cannot prove you drove like an elder on Sunday whilst the gears were in their break in stages. Hopefully they side with you though.

First off, Silent, don't panic. A slight whine probably means they are only off a little. That's one reason ALL reputable gear shops either offer the free 500 mile fluid change and look-see. (if not free, then a part of the original install price).

So, DO NOT change the break in oil yourself, you need to have that job inspected and adjusted by an expert if needed!!!

Yeah like hammer said. They will take a look at shavings (if any) but more importantly they will look where the gears have been meshing and go from there. I mean if they contact pattern is spot on then really what else could there bee?

Thanks, I guess I'll have to use my dads truck still seeing I can't get tomorrow off and their main tech isn't in on Saturdays so they don't even consider Gear jobs . . . looks like I'll call them up tomorrow and schedule an appointment >.< They told me to call em within 10 days of the install or at 500mi but since I don't commute that far AT all it's been about 2-3 weeks and I just got to 500mi . . . so I'm hoping they still remember me and if not I have the receipt !

As far as the 75w140 Mobil 1 oil I have coming in, should I bring that along and have them use it on the final closing of the diff. or save it and use what they put in for a year or so then change it out with the Mobil myself so I can get some experience under my belt ?

Sorry for all the hassle, but this is why I love being apart of this community. You ask for advice and in most cases you get it, this way in a few years I'll be able to help someone that's going through what I have.

Mine are louder than stock b/c I couldn't even hear the stock gears. When I pulled the plug to check my fluid level it just start coming out and it was golden yellow w/ some fine glitter throughout the oil, I don't know if that means anything good or bad. I still need to get some more of the fluid out since it's overfilled, but I'll worry about that after I stop by the shop tomorrow.

I have 4.10 Motives as well and have a little whine around 55 mph or so. But that is the only range I have whine. I have had them for about 5,000 miles with no issues.

Yeah just save the oil for your self it seems most shops will not use oil supplied by the customer (liabilities and ****e) You could bring it but I like your option of doing it yourself later down the road. Nothing better than a Saturday afternoon that involves oily hands IMO.

That's what I was thinking I've been trying to find reasons to crawl under my truck or my sisters Civic to fix anything . . . but alas I've fallen short. As far as the whine&grind I'll drive my truck tomorrow to see if the feint grind is still there (other than the whine that's at 45-50mph).

All in all I wish you the best of luck with your Gears Chambers. I'll be crossing my fingers and praying I haven't busted my Motive 4.56s. But WORST absolute case I'd shoot myself in the foot and tell them to re-install my stock 3.21 gears that are sitting in the garage now.

Thanks for all the help, I'll try and post after the touch-up day passes and what the results were
