HAS ANYBODY OUT THERE ADDED WATER INJECTION TO THE NEW HEMI ENGINE?
I've been reading a lot of posts about low fuel mileage on these new Hemi's, and I'm just about to take delivery on a new one. I currently drive a 93 dakota 5.2 all stock 4x4 with 207k (just turned) and I average 15-16 mpg highway all the time, as long as I keep my foot out of it. I'm thinking the water injection with the heat of combustion with actually increase the compression and the 02 of the water will help the overall burn process.
Anyone looked into this yet?

I like where your going with your concept I'm sure someone here will be able to shed some light on it... On a similiar note I've been thinking about a propane enrichment system kinda like on the diesels but on a smaller scale. If you misted the motor ever so slightly with propane ....could it be managed and would it raise power and extend the fuel mileage????
Water injection is a good idea for older style jet engines. I had one for a brief period on my 77 Diplomat (318) and never saw a difference in mileage. The propane injection is a better idea since it's can help control spark-knock as an octane source.
I was watching an edition of TRUCKS a couple of weeks ago where Stacey added this bolt on system to a Ford I think, but it wasn't a simple spray system, it was setup like a nitrous sytem, high pressure pump, individual spray nozzles for each runner, and computer controlled. I'll try to find the the guys that manufacter it and see what they have to say. I guess the biggest thing I'm concerned about is the "leftovers" from the water after it is vaporized--scale, rust, etc.
Try this web site. It will explain about using gas LPG .They have it in Great Britian and in Canada , But I can't find out about it here in the States... http://wwwlpga.co.uk/lpga.htm In Canada the refund is about $2,000. per unit.
