New here
Hi Im new to this forum.
I have a 1998 dodge dakota (3.9l) and I really need to upgrade because
this truck dont have power and a lot ok mileage.
So I was thinking to buy a 2002 to 2005 dodge ram 4.7l quad cab 4x4 (in my area hemi are expensive).
I want to know if this truck have little bit of power and if they are reliable. And I want to know if is easy to swap the 5.7l hemi in the 4.7l because my friend have an 5.7 hemi engine that run good and for sell.
thanks
Nick

Well I must say your english was not that bad there are some english speaking people in this forum with worse sentence structure etc. If I were you I would simply just find a truck with the HEMI right off the start it will end up being much less hassle because a swap is not very easy and in the long run it might just be less expensive. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Welcome to the forum.
4.7 3rd gen. The third gen trucks are just an all around better package if you can afford one that has been looked after and is optioned to your tastes. Not knocking the second gen trucks at all they are great but you cannot beat the new design for ease of use and general drivability.
id stay with the newer of the 4.7l the earlier ones tend to have more miles and if not maintained properly it could have potential problems but thats with any used vehicle but the newer the better if your money situation permits it i have a 04 4.7 and i love my truck i mean everyone wishes that they had gotten a hemi but im very satisfied i also live in florida where we dont have many hills and such......
it's a good reliable engine. all the problems I have heard of with the engine can be avoided with proper, regular maintenance. just keep up with the engine and it'll keep running.
just like any other model car/truck, the newer ones will have more creature comforts and driveability. they will also cost more.

If you love your truck and you want a hemi ,I'd put a Hemi in it.I'm putting one in my Dakota.I'll install yours for $750.00.Wiring not included. You'll have just as much in a 4.7 as a Hemi transplant but with more horsepower and Torc. The 1999- 2007 4.7 litre motors are junk.
