Default Question about Blacking out Badges and Making Truck Waterproof

So 1) i want to paint all my chrome black. even the badges. what do i have to do?

2) i want to go offroading. what do i have to worry about when mudding? ive been before and i busted the plastic cover that protects the fan.
i also had a misfire in the engine after that im pretty sure its from mudding.

what would i need to do to make a mud truck... i am going to save up buy some rockstar rims with nitto grapplers. or just some other type of small rim with fatty tires!

You plan on going mudding or swimming with your rig? You want to keep your aircleaner spout out of the water.(Pass right fender, bottom of headlight for height, or shall i say top of tire..lol)

You prob sucked up a tiny bit of water last time and it gave just an error code. Taking bigger gulps will lock up your motor.

The badges are pretty simple, you can take them off with some decent weight fishing line, then sand them a bit, primer, and paint.

I did all of mine.

The gunk that is on the truck after u pull them off can be easily removed if you order some wheel...I dont know, i didnt know about it and i scraped it all off by hand haha. Took FOREVER...You can buy emblem glue from an auto store and glue them back on as well, or you can use double sided tape. I didnt like how the double sided tape made the badges stick out from the body though.

taking off all the gunk from my badges I just used a dobby no-scratch pad and a heavy solution of car wash soap, like a half half mix water and soap, dont need much. and it was very easy for me to take them off. Just be careful while you are mudding, dont go into something that is way out of hand, like if you see the guys in trucks lifted 6-10 inches with 35's-38's avoiding it, you should probably stay away from it lol.

Just leave the lakes for the boats. With your truck standing still in 3ft of water.....you will suck up water. Moving...it's a gamble. Stick to water a few inches below your tire height for quick reference. Also, there are weatherproff electrical connectors as low as right behind the driver fenderliner next to the frame. They are resistant not waterproof. Your differentials can get water in them as well and they would need a regular drain/fill maintenance. Just some things to think about.. Fun isn't always free
