Rack and Pinion

Hey im new to this site. I just bought an 04 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT and i read that the rack and pinion is junk in thez trucks dose any 1 know if there is a beefer rack like an off road 1 or will the 2500 rams rack fit the 1500. Any help would be great
