Well little to no heat... I found out that my truck while at idle has no heat it just blows out cool/slightly warm air, but if I am driving it heats up some, but not like it should. I have a 180 t-stat, and replaced my plenum gasket along with a tune up. What could be wrong here, all of my fluids are fine ect...
I bought this truck this spring so I have never had to use the heat, but I just replaced the t-stat a couple weeks ago when I replaced my plenum gasket...
My first try would be to replace the thermostat with a normal temp one, would be a < $10 try. I know many guys who live in northern climates who use a 180* thermostat have to switch back to the stock one so they have enough heat in winter. You may very well find that's all it is.
Then if that didn't work I'd look more at a blend door/heater core type issue...
I checked the lines going to the heater core and the one one the left is really hot and the one on the right is warm but not has hot as the one on the left....
Could there be air in the heater core? If I flush my coolant would that help clear the heater core? When I changed my plenum gasket I had to fill my rad. up several times probably letting air in??
If I take it somewhere to get a coolant flush it will flush the heater core also (at least thats what they told me..), so for 60 bucks I cant beat that. I just hope that fixes it.
i had the same problem and it was trash in the core and flushed it out myself with out losing hardly any coolant by pulling both hoses off and running water through one side. cheap way but worked
