Whoa whoa whoa. I thought block heaters and crap like that were only for diesels... I didn't know i had to worrie about cold winter start ups on my gasoline engine. This is all new to me

you don't

modern diesels shouldn't either. the days of indirect injection and glow plugs are over.

Oic. I didn't even know that block heaters exsisted for the gasoline engine. Is my 4.7L equiped with one?

SoCal or Florida?... Sounds good! But, still not in the works... dangit. A lot of interesting feedback though. I run 5-20 full synthetic Valvoline and change it every 5,ooo miles. I know what ambient temp and windchill are .. windchill is what it feels like it is, ambient is what the Cartoon Network ... er Weather Channel says it is.
To break it down, I was most interested in what types of block heates, circulating heaters, blanket type etc, heaters people have used, and opinions of them. And, of course, cost and such nonsense.

But that SoCal-Florida thing may still be an option!
