I went to the local offroad shop(we have like 7 just in fort collins), and got a quote on an entire air lift kit. When I was towing my camaro, motorcycle, all on a full size trailer from Chicago to here in CO, the *** end of my truck was sitting WAY low, lol. For the airbags, electronic in-cab controls, and on-board air compressor they wanted almost $2,000. I was seriously considering it, because I like to tow things..
I've got the Arnott's in the above post. Rated for 5,000lbs so you know the weight won't blow out a bag. They are Goodyear bags too. Zinc plated too.
rydeslow....$2k.,...Most of that must be Labor? You can get bags/compressor set-up for about $450.
The bags don't take much to install, but the compressor may be a PIA to mount..etc..
My bags took ONE HOUR to install. I keep 20lbs of air all the time and that will keep me level up to 800lbs. If I need more air, I;'ll get the compressor hose out. i think a compressor onboard is a bit overkill unless your constantly dropping and hooking?

I have under $200 in my setup, and like 'dog said, installation is not hard at all. Probably took me about 2 hours, but I welded my brackets to the frame, so a little of that time was dragging out the mig.
I didn't go for the compressor or any fancy doo-dads. Just ran a valve out the back, under the bumper. Don't use it enough to justify the extra stuff.
I leave mine at 10 lbs., good for most loads. When I load the ATV at about 700 lbs., because almost all the weight sits behind my rear axle, because of my toolbox, I'll put about 25-30* of air in the bags (max. is 100*). That's plenty of air to keep the truck perfectly level even when I climb my 280* a$$ on top of it to drive it on and off.
