I know where you went wrong from the get go....Autozone

haha. I plan on getting Bilstein's @ 30k Whether I need them or not. But I did recently find out I have a bad axle seal on passenger rear. Figures... I just did the Diff. service....

Did you find the problem?

If you haven't already, see if you can isolate the problem to ball joints. I know they usually squeak when back. But, if I'm not mistaken, they can also cause the rattling as described. I know its a lot different car, but my 99 Audi A4 had these symptoms and it was the ball joints on the multi-link. A very similar concept.

my 2007 Ram 1500 QC Big Horn just started making a rubbing/grinding type sound (low pitch not a squeak, not a clunk, not a rattle) when the left front goes over bumps, especially noticeable under low speed deep/high bumps like speed bumps or parking lot potholes/driveway ramp skirts. I bought the truck 3 weeks ago and it was fine.. figures.. not sure if I am looking at a bad shock, ball joint, CV joint, control arm bushing, tie rod, sway bar bushing or what... at least it came with a 45 day warranty - taking it in tomorrow..

As for shocks not being available for the '06+ coil over fronts, there are many brands that are out there. I know for a fact there are Monroes, Ranchos and Bilsteins for it, plus Rancho and Bilstein even make all-in-one shock and lift kits for your truck...
Hammer, I was just looking at the Rancho all-in-one shock and level kits. Do you know any more about them? What is a fair price for them?

so dealer says they resolved the problem by moving the tire from the front to he back as it was "cupped" - tread concave or something.. sounds fishy - going to pick it up/test drive it now.. no charge at least..

Default 2007 Ram 1500 2x4 Front end/ suspension noise

Not sure if I’m hearing what everyone else is, but I’ve noticed with my truck, the noise is nonexistent when the brakes are applied. Even if it’s just slightly.
I’m also not sure what day I’m going to trade the thing in for a Nissan, but I’m afraid it will be sooner than later .
Thanks

I forgot to update this thread.. Took it back in and decided not to leave until they fixed it. Told them it was the strut, they said it wasn't. I made them replace it.. FIXED!

Isn't it sad when the consumer knows more than the "certified" techs???

Sure is Hammer and these "tech's" keep on plodding away until they stumble upon the real problem.
