I just got my first Dodge truck. It is a 2005 HD 2500 Laramie 4X4 diesel. Since I have never owned a Dodge and this thing is brand new, I am nervous about drilling holes. I need to run some wires for my Ride-Rite suspension airbags, CB, Etc. and I am not sure where the best place would be to drill a hole the size I need. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Or is there a drain plug somwhere in the cab I can use to run the wires?
Thanks.

I havent looked at the floor board of mine but there should be some holes with gromets in them.
when I ran my boost/EGT wires I used the hole the hood latch cable uses. it's a tight fit but it works

Look on the firewall just forward and above the brake pedal. There is a rubber grommet with 1 cable running through it. I've ran several wires and a cb antenna through it. From the engine compartment, it's to the inside and below the brake master cylinder.

if u want ur holes to Come out perfect... take some maskin tape, and mask the area you want and then with a pen just make a circle where u need to or if not just start drilling.. it will keep your bit from going all over the place and ruening ur metal.

the place Don is talking about is the same one I used for my boost/egt lines.
it is the hood latch release cable that goes through it.

Oh yea - It makes it easier if you pull the gromet out from the engine compartment side of the firewall. Very easy to reinstall. When I wired my Mopar trailer harness, that was the recommended routing by Mopar.

That Grommet can be easily access. If you only have a couple wires, use a coat hanger, tape the wires to one end and then poke the other end through that grommet and carefully lace the whole hanger and wires through the grommet. It keeps a tight seal (as tight as it could be) around the set of wires and when you might want to remove it - it just might (doubtful though) snap back into shape. Just thought I thow my 2 cents out there.

Thanks for the tips guys. I used the hood realease cable hole for some of the wires I needed to run since there is no fusebox inside the cab on the 2005 (that I could find anyway). I also found some punchouts in various places under the cab of the truck that could be punched out. I had to run small air hoses in there for my Ride-Rite Air bag controls so I was able to just punch one of those out. I found a piece of rubber I was able to slip in the hole and drill out small holes for each hose. No noise increased in the truck so I think it works well.
Thanks again for all the replies.
