I think it's purely disgraceful how bad shops charge people for brake jobs. It's like their bread and butter when they need to make some money on a vehicle; it's ALWAYS $700+. How can something so simple be one of the most expensive jobs in shops? I went from being sick to my stomach with quotes of $750+ for complete brake jobs on my truck from shops to $250 doing it myself with parts that are going to be infinitately better than oem parts. I just don't see the discrepency of a $500 gap; there needs to be more oversight and regulation in the mechanical industry, it's out of control.

good question^^^ Jjay uh a few things (nice sig btw) You need a safety stand or two, Your kid ,a jack, and two by fours don't make it imo. That said Those are kicking rotors. I wonder what the dealer did for my brakes (Seating them wise) Probably not a thing : / oh well drovee it for a few months now slammin on in a p/lot won't matter now i guess.
On what garages do, x2^^ Seems thats a money maker especially when they turn old rotors, the friggin machine does the work and it's always a toos up whether they push new rotorss or turning, with the semi metallics out now they wear rotors down pretty good ..Did you get ceramics btw Jjay ,,sorry bout the rant getting caught up is all.

yes i know i need some jack stands just been lazy about it...on the note of 2x4 they are pt 2x6 just as a cushion so it doesnt fall...i know for a fact that wood can hold my truck cause of the beating we used to give it when i worked in marine construction for 10 yrs....we would use it as padding for a hydraulic hammer between the hammer steel and the concrete piles and it can take alot of weight and smashing....and yes rocket not the safest method thats why he dont get under it i will....and yes i got ceramics with the rotors....thanks for caring tho bud....marx yes this can be done w/o opening lines....

I don't blame you for putting the wood under there bc it will hold a lot of weight, but what you have to be careful of is that it looks like it is stacked pieces. If the truck did ever come down on it, the pieces might slide apart and then the truck would come all the way down. If you are going to put wood under there, try a log, but really you should just get some stands.
