It's a huge thing right now with not only exhaust note balancing but also with back force pressure equalization. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING I've come across, from exhaust engineering white pages to conversations with top of the line performance shop guys, stress the importance of balancing back force pressures back to the engine.

At some point in the exhaust there needs to be a mixing of the gases, whether it be an "X", "Y", "H" pipe or simply using a single DIDO muffler to achieve this...

Took the words right out of my mouth.

So with out the balance pipe, is the lengths equal? No it is not. So the bottom line is that he would be better off having a balance pipe in there regardless. The pipes are not equal from the factory, but they are still tied together. It will make a noticable difference with an X-Pipe in there. You just have to install one where the pipe run parallel, instead of an actual "X" like a car would have.

Hmm, I wish I had the money to test DIDO muffler vs Cross pipe. I think ill go with H pipe and 2 mufflers myself.

x pipe H pipe blah blah..

Talk all you want abought what you think is right and show me some who HAS put in a X pipe or H pipe on a hemi 4wd, Thier is not enough room under a Ram truck to do this, A H pipe or a x pipe will do nothing to balance the ex flow when we all ready know the EX pipe off the manifolds is unequal from the factery.

I'm not against having a X pipe or H pipe, Works awsome on a car were all the ex pipes are equal in length, Problem is the flue tank, transfer case don't allow you the room.

The dyno max ultra flow with a x patern in the mufler was the orginal mufler installed on my dual ex conversion, I was sold on the concept of = EX flow, Balanced, Sound, ect ect.

{ Calgary Mufler installed two of thier in house muflers, Flow pro's, and I have never looked back, only regret was dealing with the shop that did the orginal conversion}

After three warnty replacments ( blowing out the mufler cassing ) I was convinced the x Concept was the reason Why I blowing out the mufler

Thiers nothing wrong with free flowing muflers and removing the Y pipe.

If we really want the best of the best of true dual ex conversion, step up to headers, free flowing Cats and take out a loan.
