cat convertors

my driver side cat is making a lot of noise must have busted up, just wondering if i can gut my cats (think i have left right and rear) and not have any engine problems? my truck is a 2004 Dodge Ram Hemi 4x4

you're gonna lose some bottom end power and it'll definently sound aweful when decelerating (it'll pop like a bag of orville redenbacher). depending on where you're from, it may not even be legal

Might want to check to see if its just a heat shield before you try to gut the stock cats.

You will throw a code if you put a gutted cat infront of the rear o2 sensor.

And if you do lose them then do a search for the spark plug non-foulers so you can see how to stop the CEL from coming on.
