Hmm but like how much of a difference though. I cannot be that hard because I have a lift to get under the truck with and it doesn't require a trans drop so I might throw it in either over the holidays if not later when I do a fluid/filter change. I just wish we had the damn tunability/durability of GM transmissions.

On a side note is there anyway we can plug strait into the TCM and build a program or are we hooped there too. I mean there has to be a way dodge can get these things hacked why the hell can't I?

The new trans options that SC are working on really makes a difference on our trans performance. I haven't heard of anything else that makes as much of a difference as these options do.

I'm not expecting it to do alot shift wise however if it beef things up a bit it may be worth it. As for only using it for towing well i work my truck and run it fairly hard and often so the added insurance would benefit me quite a bit. The only thing i'm curious about is if i should get both kits or if the reprogram kit has the some of the same things as the shift kit does.

i dont think they will both work together. i think the shift kit replaces some of the same parts as the reprogram kit, they just arent as beefy. thats what i gather from my reading over the past couple days.

my reprogram kit just got here. ups is delivering late during the holiday season! once i find my cam ill snap some pics of the contents. comes in some nice packaging. the box is alot bigger than i expected.

Im not especially impressed with the shift kit in my truck. My truck shifts super smooth, I mean you dont even feel the shifts at all, but performance wise... pathetic imo.

Like I said I do not expect a night and day difference as far as performance goes... BUT... If it smooths out the shifts, replaces the parts that usually go bad with parts that are better/stronger, and increases the line pressure a little then I am all for it. I cannot afford to do a full valve body at the moment so an $80 shift kit will work for now.

i found a ton of info about both the shift kit, and the reprogram kit on some other dakota forum. according to them, the shift kit is pretty worthless, but the reprogram kit made slightly quicker, firmer shifts. and yes, they all pretty much said big differences were not felt unless they installed the resistor (which increases line pressure, but you dont use if you have a tuner cuz the line pressure will be too high) but even without the resistor, quicker firmer shifts were still noticed.
