Okay i took my truck in awhile back to the dealership to get a routine maintenance. They told me that i needed to replace my front differential. Which i thought was a little weird i only use my 4wheel drive maybe a couple times a year. Could that be possible?? Or does that have nothing to do with the situation? Also is switching out the Differential fluid hard to do?

 

Not hard at all. Did the shop change your front diff fluid?? How would they know that your diff needs changing unless they opened it up and inspected? They would have had to refill the front diff with new oil if that was the case. Your stealership sounds a lil goofy.

 

Are you sure they didn't mean you need to replace the fluid? As far as the diff going bad, it's used all the time whether in 4wd or not.
