Question RAZ head unit access for ipod adapter install

Let me first say I did do a search but must be using the wrong terms. So, forgive me for posting a probably repetitve topic.

I have an 04 SLT Quad cab 4x4 with the RAZ (cassette/CD combo) factory head unit with Infinity Sound. Therefore I have the fold down cup holders and the climate controls above that and the radio above the climate controls. I bought a USA-spec ipod adapter that is supposed to be compatible with my head unit since I have no integrated satellite radio or external CD changer. I just installed the same type, but different brand, unit in my daughter's RX-8.

Just wondering if anyone has any tips, how-to's, or links to instructions for removing the head unit in my model such that I can access the plug for the adapter? I should have the necessary tools including a panel tool if one is needed.

Also, wondering if anyone has any tips or experiences with where the most convenient place may be to locate the plug and wire that attaches to my ipod from the adapter and/or the adaptor unit itself?

Thanks in advance.

Well dang, I did a search but didn't think to even look at recent posts. I found this on the first page towards the bottom and am waiting for the video to buffer up.

Is it really as easy as feej says in his response?

Also, would still appreciate any responses about where to locate the device and cables.

yes, it is seriously that easy. I ran my cable to my glove box. which was super easy to. it just takes a little bit of messin with to get the glove box to drop forward a little more. you'll see what's holding it up when you open the glove box.

Thanks for the reply. Got it done yesterday. Super Easy - way easier than my daughter's RX-8 I did the week before. Glove box seemed to make the most sense so that's where I went with it although the cable left plenty of room for other options. Sounds awesome!
