Guys who've replaced speed senor on rear diff
What's the best way to access it? Did you take one of the rear wheels off and get at it from the there? I have my brake and abs lights on and the speedo is jumpy. The front abs sensors are fine and easily accessible so I checked them first but it's more common for the rear to go. thanks
I had my truck up on axel stands on the frame under the bed with both wheels off.
I was replacing my stock LSD at the time.
I remember though, that I had plenty of access to the speed sensor.
If memory serves, that sucker is a pig to pull out. So don't be surprised to snap/damage the old one. Luckily I didn't.
Have you pulled the pumpkin for a look see at the toner ring?
You can also access the sensor from inside the diff housing to push it out.

Lights are off now. I unplugged the cable and it had a bit of mud, dust, grime and road salt on it. I sprayed a bunch of WD-40 on it and let it dry and plugged her back up. I threw the sled in the back and drove the 35 mile round trip to go snowmobiling and they haven't come on yet.
