Free form is just clear front glass. it uses the backshield to reflect the light.
regularr 500's have the fluted glass that helps aim the beam.

Both have same pattern. i like the look of the clear glass. so that's what i bought. Check this out
scroll down to the 18th post for install

Not the same pattern.........the 500 is a direct spotlight beam...the ff is more like a headlight - kind of a spread beam pattern. I recently switched to the ffs - they light bup more in my opinion.

So 500FF > 500? I want more light on the road but don't want to jump up to HID's just yet.

Dirty, did you possibly have anymore pictures as far as that install in concerned....I have zero confidence when it comes to wiring LOL. And what's that small black piece just below the spool of 14ga wire?

i have no other pics. Lots of info in the text. That install is using a diff rocker switch powered diretly from the battery. Hella gives directions as well, but then you have to have your headlights on before the Hella's will work. i wanted them independently. i think Hella's install may be what you are looking for as most will have their headlights on when using their driving lights anyways.
That black piece is shrink tubing. I soldered and used shrink tubing on all of my connections.
