Painting A-Pillar
Read a few threads on this and had a few small questions.
1. Is there a major difference between Duplicolor or Krylon? If people have a better experience with one, that's the way I want to go.
2. Do I need to sand before I spray? What grit paper would be best?
3. Is at least one top coat necessary?
Reason for this is, I bought the black gauge pillar and wanted to color match it on the passenger side.
Thanks dewds

I used the Krylon on my eyelids. Of course the one made for plastic and it worked really well. Just before I painted though I didn't sand but used some rubbing alcohol to prep the surface. You may need to test fit the piller just to see if there's any trimming you need to do before shooting paint. If that's good, the only suggestion I have and I'm NOT a professional painter by any means is to use some alcohol to get any residual oils off and use lots of light coats instead of putting it on real heavy.
its plastic i would say yes but a fine grit some 400 then some 600 i think also spray it with adhesion promoter first if you call the dealer they should have the exact match for color so your interior all looks the same instead of a shade off and always take your time dont rush it and it will come out good.....i have cream or whiteish ones and want to paint it all charcoal and thats what i was told to do....i did my grill with duplicolor paint match and it came out great ....i sanded that with 400 n 600 and layed coats of adhesion and primer and color and cleared it....good luck
thanks guys...
