Default Aftermarket Stereo install Experience Needed

Alright fellow friends time to do some upgrades. Just bought a Sony CDXGT620IP for $80. I have been looking at the adapters and would like to know if I am getting the right hardware to install this thing. The radio in the truck right now is the standard Fm/Am/Cassette.

Mount

Wire Kit

Antenna Adapter

The Mount looks promising but the wire kit seems to not be what I want. Why not just cut the the connector on the factory stereo and wire it in? A factory to aftermarket Sony adapter would be awesome. The Antenna Adapter I believe is also something I will need.

Anyone have some experienced input?

All the items look ok, Walmart and Advanced Autoparts is cheaper so save on the postage and you will definately need the antenna adapter.

Don't cut the wiring off the original stereo as you can either sell it on ebay or put it back in when you sell the truck. If you cut the wiring the original stereo is scrap.

Definitely do not cut the factory harness off, the universal should plug right in and then you just need to match up the colors. Easy Stuff. If you ever sell the truck, just save that factory radio and dump it right back in. Just do a good job with the wiring, keep it nice and neat and then there should be no problem getting the new radio in there.

if you talk to the help on crutchfield they will make sure you get all the needed parts to go along with your head unit.

Right on. I ordered a harnes and install kit off ebay for my truck worked fine and it was the same stuff on Crutchfield. The install kit came with the antenna adapter for about half the price.

Hmm, I got my stereo installed by a buddy for free. Sorry I'm no help. But keep everything in tact in case you trade up your truck

Why bother saving the stock radio? When you sell your truck in 2 or 3 years, the radio you put in will be old and outdated anyways.

Because in ten to twenty years time people will be looking and paying s**t loads for stock stereos for their Ram restorations!
