trying to find out which transmission i have. looked underneath didnt see any obvious numbers just a bunch of barcodes. is there any other spot where the type of trans is listed at? i did see that it was manufactured in 09 of 02. thanks and happy new year everybody......

 

46re I think.

 

I think the 2002 and 2003 trucks run the 45-rfe trans. I believe the 545 didnt come out until 04. I could be wrong though. Hopefully someone else will chime in. I know my truck (2002) has the 45-rfe tranny for sure.

 

I'm not 100% sure but I think the 4.7's had the 45RFE, the 5.9's had the 46RE, and the 5.7's have the 545RFE. I know my 5.9 has a 46RE.

 

Am I going to have to go out in the snow to have a look?

 

5.9's had the 46RE, the RFE was attached to 4.7's and 5.7's. Look in your glovebox and see if the sticker is still there. If not, do a search on here and someone has the link to send an email to get your window sticker option list emailed to you. It uses your VIN to list everything that was factory installed/delivered with that vehicle.

 

Go Here and send them an email with your VIN asking for a Build Sheet.

 

Looks like Dodge is down for maintenance. Suffice it to say, you have a 46RE.
