Default p0700 What does this code actually mean

P0700 Transmission Control System Malfunction. What does this code actually mean. My trans was slipping the other day and popped out this error code. Does it mean trans is going or that a sensor could have gone bad. Truck is in the shop waiting for them to look at it tomorrow. Thank You

That is a generic TCM malfunction code.
It means that something is wrong with your transmission control module. Not enough to pinpoint a specific circuit or sensor, but it is still serious, especially if you noticed slippage.

this slippage does it sound like a high pitched squeel when you step on it ? and makes the engine sound like its ticking a bit ?
