Most girls don't know crap about any vehicle besides it's looks, so not to bust any ones bubble, more then likely they thought you were hott and wanted a reason to talk to you.
Now don't get me wrong, sometimes there are auto girls out there that see a nice truck, car, you name it and have to give credit where it's due.
As for your wife getting cranky, sounds like she's a bit jealous. Hense why I would do something special for her to remind her you only think of her and love her. (and even if you don't, do it anyhow or you'll hear **** for some time, every time so girl says something to you)
Now you were all jumping on the chick with the f150, did you ever think maybe she thought your truck was better, and was just trying to flirt a little and show interest?

If the 18-24yr olds are little girls then yes, always get at least one or two comments... Also get looks driving down the road as well, guess people are just not use to seeing a street legal kart running down the going 45...
