I think it would depend on what lights you buy. If you buy OEM lights the old bezel will go back on, but it will have the slats still. I've seen a truck on here that did it and it looks OK. I don't know what it does to the effectiveness of the lights.
I just finished putting a kit in today and I cant ge the new bezels to go on. The old ones go on like a glove and do fit with the new lights, but I want open bezels.

What year is your truck? Some trucks have to have the fogs enabled by the dealer also.

Well weedahoe, judging by his user name...I own an '05, would make me think he's got an '05...lol But I understand where you are coming from.

I's pretty sure that it's for either 06+ or 07+ where the fogs need to be enabled within the pcm, but for 05-prior, you are good to go.

OP, you may have the harness already in place. if so, it'll be as easy as bolting and plugging in the foglamp housings and installing the new headlamp switch in the dash. Gotta have the foglight switch.

I am prewired, but I did not have a new switch with the foglight option. It came with an aftermarket switch. The kit itself is OEM syle and bolts right in. I wired the lights into the parking lamps so that I could have them on without headlights and also they will stay on with the brights. I cringed a little waiting for the popping noises and a fire to ignight somewhere. Will all the relays and fuses, It should be OK.
I think in the near future, I migh actually buy the OEM light switch and go that route....or maybe not.
