Default which transmission does it have

I am looking at an 05 Dodge 2500 with the Hemi. The cluster says 1,2,D and I do not see an overdrive off or on button. Just a tow/haul button. Were these trucks standard with a 4 speed auto or was there a 5 speed. Or is this a 5 speed auto?

Is there a difference between them as far as performance/longevity?

Thanks for the help!

Should be the 545RFE. Look in the glovebox to see if the option tag is still there. It's technically a 5sp auto, but that's because there are 2 second gears (2 and 2 prime). Someone at some point on here has explained it somewhere. As far as I know, only the SRT10 and diesel trucks got 4sp autos (48RE).
