My '05 ram 1500 has about 53,000 miles and also burns a quart every 2-3k miles. I think these 5.7 hemi's are a little over rated. My engine runs great It doesn't leak any oil and I never see any smoke, but I think 1 qt is too much. If i change my oil every 5k and add a quart every 2k I just about never need to change the oil just the filter...lol...just joking. I bought my truck with 28k on the odometer So i really don't know how the engine was treated before me.

Hey I've read a lot of good stuff about Seafoam. Would that help him?
