So Im working on my buddies 2002 Ram 1500 with the independent front suspension. ( note:I have a 2001 1500 Sport with the solid axle) He was out in the ice(bout 4 and 1/2 inches thick) bein a knucklehead last nite when he dropped thru. He wheeled it hard and got it out but in the process he stripped the splines coming from the intermediate shaft to the right front cv-shaft. (I believe there is supposed to be a lock ring or something in there) I fought with it to get it all apart and im to the point where i need to remove the knuckle so i can remove the shaft. Im pretty sure i need some special tools to seperate the knuckle from the balljoints?? Does anyone with experience know what tools r needed to make it happen? Also: im going to have to replace the intermediate shaft which involves pulling the bearing and replacing it; has anyone done this that could offer tips on the intermediate replacing as well.?? Thanks for reading my novel and any and all help is greatly apprreciated!!! Im walking into this kinda blind.........
