Ok I got a tonneau cover that came with my 06 dodge ram. Its the same color and it looks great on the truck but one little problem. For the tonneau cover to close and lock I had to take off that black guard off the top of my tailgate. So i had to get washers and screw the screws back in the holes from the cover. Do they make any other top guard cover of the tailgate that i can leave on that will allow the tonneau cover to close?

 

nope i had the same problem i just filled them with metal and 2 part epoxy panel bond now i have 4 little black squares on my tail gate. u might be able to find a tailgate protector thats long enough... look for bed rail gaurds. If not get a tail gate fro a 02-05

just a tailgate bedrail like a diamond plate one should work, I know I can run a tonneau on my truck with my diamond plate.

 

I got the perfect solution. Take the cover off and send it to me. At your cost of course. You dont want that thing.
