*Help with 2005 Ram Hemi trouble codes*
So I just picked up this 2005 dodge ram hemi work truck, the truck came with 82,xxx miles on it but when I test drove it everything seemed to work fine. After a couple weeks the engine would just randomly die out and the engine started running pretty rough. I took it to a fairly well known transmission shop here in Hawaii and when they hooked it up to the computer it kicked out the following codes.
P0335 - CKP Sensor Circuit
P0339 - CKP Sensor Circuit Intermittent
P0300 - Multiple Cylinder Misfire
The shop quoted me around $800.00 +/- to get everything taken care of, does this seem like a fair price? Anyone else have similar issues with this year, make and model? Also if anyone knows of another shop that might be a bit better price wise I would really appreciate it.

Maybe a picture will generate more responses, im in the weeds with this truck if I already have to kick down 800+ dollars in repairs after only owning the truck for 3 weeks.
Also how hard is it to do a transmission flush yourself? I wanted to swap out the trans fluid with some higher end Royal Purple or something to combat the heat that these transmissions seem to have.

Find a new shop! The first two codes are for the Crank Position Sensor, a fairly simple swap out part.
But my problem is with the multiple misfire, yes could possibly be caused by the bad cam sensor, but no way of knowing for sure without a compression test.
The Cam sensor is about a $50 part and a 15 min swap as its fairly easy to get to and is a plug in secured with a single 10mm bolt.
I'd start there, clear the codes, and if the cylinder misfire comes back (may or may not) then tackle that one...

So I need a crank position sensor and a cam sensor? Sorry im not very technically savvy.
The shop was saying that the $800.00 included a full service tune up along with dealing with those codes and that it was so expensive because they had to source all oem parts or something.
Thanks for the response

No, just a Crank sensor, I mistyped, sorry...
and get it in writing, because its possible (although not REAL likely, so dont panic yet) that the multiple misfire is a cracked head. They gonna replace an engine for that? I dont mean to sound negative, but I think it is a crock of sh*t to quote you without finding the problem first...

Yeah I was pretty shocked at the price considering all they did was hook it up to the code reader for 5 minutes, and test drive it for a block and a half. The owner of the shop who test drove it said "its hard to tell whats wrong because its running so rough" he than looked at the code printout and told me it would be 800 bucks. This place has nothing but great reviews so this seems kind of odd. I called back to get a price to install just the cam sensor and they quoted me 75$ for the install, I found the sensor at a local dodge dealership for 36$
