shock sizes
Did you get the spindle 3" lift from rough country? Because their website says their 3" lift kit for 2wd trucks is a longer coil not a new spindle. But that may have changed some time ago. I went on Rancho's website and they don't show an extended length shock for a lifted 03 dodge ram 2wd.

Check it out and see if I maybe missed it, but I don't think I did. I've been on a couple sites poking around and couldn't find the system you want in an extended length shock. And I haven't found a shock relocation bracket for a 2wd ram just yet. Let me know what you find out if you call Rancho.
I went on 4wheelparts website too and they didn't show extended length shocks for the front or rear for your truck. If you have a longer coil in the front I would highly suggest a longer shock than stock length. Your kit probably came with longer shocks in it.

wow thanks. yeah the rough country kit I got like 4 or 5ish years ago. don't have or remember the info on the shocks. yes it was just The spindles, blocks, and extended u bolts and shocks. if I can find out the kit uses stock length front and or rear then that'd help. is there any way I can just measure the cylinder and figure out the length? or is that not accurate? I read on here the difference between rear shocks on 1500 and 2500 is 2 inches which I'd believe would work. got a hold of rough country and of course they have no info on old kit. sucks
Yeah, you can measure the shocks that are on there now and call/email Rancho and they can see if they have a shock with the mounts and length you're looking for. You can also call/email shockwarehouse.com and see if they have any suggestions too. Yeah, if the 2500 shocks have the same mounts, they will work.
so if it comes down to it, i should be able to get stock size fronts and 2500 stock size rears. correct. do all model rams have same shock brackets? or did they make it difficult and do something funky between 1/2 tons to 3/4 tons?
That, my friend I'm not sure of. You may could check the FAQ section and see if that's been brought up. If I was gonna try it, just make sure you look for a shock for the 2wd version of the 2500. You may see if you can google 2500 ram shock I did and if the picture shown is the actual picture for the 2500 shock, that doesn't look like the same brackets as I have on my shocks I installed.
