I've been getting a code or o2 sensors. It says bank 1 sensor 2. (P0138) My repair manual shows 4 sensors for 2 catalytic converters so it should be the 1 after the cat on the drivers side. When I got under the truck, I only saw 2 sensors. It looks like the pipes go from each exhaust collector to a single cat and there is 1 sensor before and 1 sensor after the cat. Am I missing something?

My truck is a 2003 hemi 4X4 quad cab. Thanks for any help with this.

 

Yeah, sounds like you are missing one cat and two O2 sensors...



Most, if not all 03s and some of the early 04s had a single cat setup. Its the 02 AFTER the cat...

 

thanks for the info. I sort of figured that I wasnt totally crazy here! Im glad that I wasnt about to change the wrong one! Which is good, because the one before the cat is a bit harder to get at anyway...lol!
