i have a 25' hose i keep in my tool box with a few attachments that i might need

 

I have always wanted a air compressor on my truck. Seems like it can be such a handy thing to have no matter who you are. I may get one, However I wonder if on the Frame under the bed might not be a better spot to mount one.

 

i thought about it and i want to have easy access to it just in case it goes down. the tank i'm mounting under the bed.

 

I have a York 210 on my truck with 11 gallons...it fill the 11 gallons from 165 to 200 in about 10 seconds at cruising RPMs and about 30 seconds at idle. It's engine driven...long as the trucks running it's pumpin the **** outta air. It'll run an impact without a reserve tank. I've used it to pull all for wheels off my truck and put em back on. I have $25 into the compressor...made the bracket outta of scrap...bought a $15 hydraulic hose...a linger belt and a check valve. Been using it daily for about a year now.

 

i have never seen a compressor mounted in the hood, next to the headlight like that. i mounted mine to my bed rail and worked fine, i also just got some cheap diamond plate and elded it up to form a small mox without a top and back to keep it away from the elements, but it still gets enough air. i also mounted the tank under the bed, over the axle. i mounted the tank to 2, 1/4" pieces of metal that i mounted to the bed. didnt hold up very long so i relocated it to the bed, mounted it on the side by the wheel well, in the bed.

 

Atfbig, What kinda pressure is that baby capable of?

 

I run it at 205...but I've heard of people running them at 250. 250 is excessive for what I need it for. It runs cool and smooth at 205...I turned it up to 225 once and it got significantly hotter and rougher. The extra pressure just isn't worth the abuse. I'm fixin to add another 10 gallons. So I'll have 21 total. It'llore than handle it. Like I said you can hook a hose directly from the head and run an impact. It puts out alotta air.
