Cold weather problems....
To start out.... I have a 2004 Ram QC 2wd with the 5.7. It has 137,000mi. and all tune ups have been on time and done by myself. Now, to start, for the last two months since its started getting chilly, I cant get my shifter to come out of park and slide down into drive. I have to either play with it for about 5 min or let it completly warm up before i leave before it will come out of park. No big deal i thought, just getting old. But this morning I pulled out of my driveway and when i hit about 30, it acted like it was skipping really bad... so bad that to the point that the more gas I gave, the worse the problem got and the slower I went along with a really bad vibration. I stoped, turned it off, started and went again... Same thing. Stoped one more time and truned off again and it did fine the rest of the day.... Engine ran fine in park, just not drive. So was this even my engine or my tranny? Could it be my shifter problem didnt let it get fully into drive therefor it was slipping in and out? No check engine lights or anything came on by the way. Sorry about the long post... just wanted you all to know everything I could tell you about the problem to help narrow it down some. Thanks in advance!
