Default And again another exhaust question

So finally I'm able to replace my muffler. I called around for prices, about $40 to replace using stock pipes. I found a Flowmaster 50 Series Delta Flow for $84 and a Magnaflow y-pipe for $23. Okay so I asked about replacing the y-pipe and was told that I shouldn't do it because I would lose low end torque. I haven't been able to find anything about this on our 3.7L's. Have any of you had this issue? Thanks.

Well if you think like that then adding a free flowing muffler and shorty headers would also hurt your low end. Changing the y-pipe is similar to those in that you're just removing one of the more restrictive parts of the exhaust. When I had mine cut out I noticed very little difference in low end power, I'd say my air intake had a bigger effect on low end than changing the exhuast.
