Default 5spd manual trans fluid

I know theres not alot of people with the manuals. But for the people who do...what kind of fluid are you guys using? Im planning on changing the trans and rear fluid here soon. Thought about going with RP or Amsoil in the rear.

I went with Amsoil synthetic. You'll need a 17mm hex socket to take the plugs out. Ran mine a week then did a reflush. Took out alot of tranny noise. Still sounds like an F15 taking off but alot better than it was considering how many miles it has on it.

I'm running RP synchromax, changed out at 28k miles and it improved shifting quite a bit. Redline MTL is supposed to be really good from what I've heard and it's cheaper than RP. I've heard that RP gives better shifts than amsoil and that the best overall is redline so that's what I recommend.

You can't go wrong w/ any of them really b/c they are all good products, I just recommend Redline b/c I've heard it give the best shift quality from several people.

How much did you have to buy for the trans?

I bought 3 qts. I think the capacity is a little over 2. It only took 2 though and I drained it when it was hot.

EDIT: The capacity for the nv3500 on a 4x2 is 4.8 pints which is 2.4 qts.
