Default motor swap need help ASAP!!!

I have a 2003 dodge ram 2500 4x4 5.7 hemi and the motor is junk 247,000 miles. I have found a 2005 5.7 hemi with 40,000 miles on the engine. I want to buy this engine for my 03. every junk yard is telling me that the engines are diffrent but none can tell me what the diffrence is. my 03 is a vin# D ( the eigth digit) and I am told that the 05 is the same. the only diffrence is the EGR valve that I can find, is this going to be a problem? can any one tell me if this is going to work? Can any one tell me where to find a motor if this wont work? I am only paying $1000 for this motor so if anny one can give me some advice that would be awesome!!!!

The 03 has a separate ECM and TCM and in 04 the integrated the two. I don't know about being able to wire the newer into a older truck.

The EGR I think you can buy a EGR block of plate from the dealership, don't quote me on that.

You should be able to transfer any unique sensors, etc from the old engine to the new one. The wiring was designed to plug in the same just controlled differently. So far as strictly the engine itself, EGR is the only thing I know of that is different.
