Default Electric Fan Vs. Auxiliary Fan

I'm looking to upgrade to an electric fan however I found that Auxiliary fans generally run cheaper. I've tried to find out what exactly the difference (if there is any) between the two is but have come up empty handed. If one of you can help me out it would be great.

what i have found is that the Auxilliary fans are used for lower cooling applications. My guess is that it wouldn't push enough air to properly cool your truck while sitting in traffic or on hills/towing
