too cold???

There is an easy way to check and see if the stat is stuck open. Let the truck cool off, then start it up when it is cold and feel the hose that is coming off the thermostat housing. If you can feel fluid flowing through it immediately when the truck starts cold then the stat is stuck open. Or you could unclamp the radiator end of the hose that goes from the stat housing to the rad and place it over a bucket and do the same test. Either way, if the stat is closed like it should be when the engine is cold then almost nothing should be going through that hose (other that what is going through the bypass hole in the stat). If there is a large amount of fluid then the stat is stuck open.

In all honesty, I doubt it is stuck open unless you bought one of those stats that fail in the open position.
