Default superchips update problems

so, i bought a SC 3865 for my '07 Ram and haven't been able to get my laptop to see the tuner for the update program. been on the phone with SC about three different times with three different people and they didn't help much either. they just kept sending me the same update program, reload SC driver's, etc. still not working. they also say connect it to a desktop computer but all i have is 2 laptops so thats not an option. any suggestions...would like to keep the unit.

i had the same problem with mine... they kept telling me to hook to a computer with a direce (stronger) internet connection. nothing worked. i sent it back to them and they fixed it. it was out of warranty so it cost me $20 but it was worth it. then i updated it and plugged it in and my truck wouldnt start! they had to send me an update over the internet and all was well. they were very helpful... i give them props. your SC should still be under warranty. send it back.

Do you have any kind of a firewall or program that would prevent your computer from recognizing the tuner when it is plugged in?

Have you spoken to Ron over on the flashpaq forum? He is usually very helpful with these types of issues.

for starters i don't have a chip, however my experiences with computers is that if one usb port doesn't work try another. The ports on the rear of the machine are more reliable, less distance for data to travel.

I have this problem with external hard drives, video cameras etc. Even though the front usb ports work great for webcams or portable usb storage devices, they don't work well for others.

I've had my hard drive recognized on a front usb port one day and not the other, but always works in the rear.
