Ok guys and gals if there are any. i just bought a 2003 ram 1500 with a 4.7 for 1300.00 with a blown head gasket. What problems should i be looking at haveing with this truck after i fix it?

A known problem with these 4.7's is the dreaded sludge problems. The motor starves for oil and well, you can guess what happens.

I haven't had a problem with mine at all. The only other problem you're gonna have after you fix it is TERRIBLE gas mileage. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

 

not a bad deal... they were known for headgaskets and sludge. clean out the motor good with some marvel mystery oil. then run good synthetic oil in her.
