Default Performance, yeah i know not again...but....??

3rd gen hemi truck.

Doing my best to research but now i'm all twisted up. What can you do to increase performance? CAt, Headers, intake, exhaust, pipe size. OMG! Then I find out that decreasing your back pressure can reduce your performance? Long headers increase lower rpm performance and short headers (cheaper) increase high rpm performance?

I've found articles that say replacing your cat with a high flow will do little for your performance. As well as the muffler. Don't bother increasing your pipe size because this will cause the air to cooler faster increasing density and therefor reducing performance (however that makes sense, but even though it increases density it slows down so I'm thinking that it won't decrease performance)

I'm going backwards here thinking that anything I do it basically a waste of time and money. haha! Very confusing.

If only the damn truck would get better than 13mpg at 70mph I would just get a stainless tip and forget everyting else.

haha! just doesn't seem to be as much fun to drive as the hemi truck though! ha! This is my 4th truck, first dodge, it just feels like something is dragging it down. I was pulling this trailer and a little more power would be nice for the longer trips. When I lean on doing something I read an article that discourages the mod.

4.10 gears are a sweet mod and I haven't heard any cons about doing that. O btw the TDI is a turbocharged diesel and the cars actually have their own road racing series.

e-fan is the best bang for your buck in mpg's...
maybe do a tune up... plugs, clean tb...
buy or make yourself a CAI...
theres lots of stuff you can do, but you will never get back the money you spent on mods in gas savings...
