Why won't these damn things come off
I'm replacing my stock rear shocks with the rough country shocks I got with my 3" lift kit, and I got the lower nut and bolt off fine, but the upper nut and bolt will not come off. I can't even get any sockets over it. The kit instructions said 18mm and that definitely doesn't fit over the nut. I tried everything else.. metric and standard and nothing works. 21mm is the closest but it just slips and starts to strip the nut. Did anybody run into this and what did you do? And sorry if I'm just extremely dumb.. thanks in advance.
hey what size are your shocks of your rough country? off topic I know but just trying to follow up on a previous question.
btw I'm not sure as to what's goin on with your install. maybe try a large cresent wrench on it. went pretty straight forward for me even with busted knuckles especially on those upper bolts on the rear shocks. keep wrenching, you'll get it

That was the only side I could get a picture of.. I just wanted to make sure I described where it was correctly for you guys.. but I finally found out the problem... After getting frustrated I decided to make sure my (grandpa's) socket was still good and realized it was totally stripped.. Dumb me. Thanks for the reply though.
On a side note, when i was pulling my rear bumper for my BL I couldnt break loose some nuts. I tried long breaker bars, I tried impacts and nothing. Then when I got to looking I noticed the nuts were welded to the frame and it was the bolt that needed to be removed. DOH!!
