Default 75w-90 RP in rear diff = Bad?

Hi all first post but have been lurking for a month or so, great forum and I have learned a lot from you all.

I bought a new to me Dodge Ram 1500 QCSB w 24k back in december (no owners manual) and after reading the forums decided to get my differentials opened up and inspected due to the retainer clip issue. The place I took it to said everything was fine no clips in the diff and all looks good. I had him refill the front and rear diff with Royal Purple. Today I was reading information regarding the correct weight for the gear oil and have seen that the front takes 75w 90 and the rear takes 75w 140. i immediatly called the shop and asked what weight he put in and both front and rear were filled with the 75w-90.

So my question is do I need to replace it ASAP?

What are the negative effects of running this weight in the rear?

Thanks

If you tow and/or haul a lot you really want the 75w-140 in the rear, if not, you'll be fine with the 75w-90, especially with it being a full synthetic...
