Default Brakes Pulsing while Driving

I have a 2007 Dodge 1500 SLT 4x4 with about 37000 miles on it. Today after being stopped at an intersection i noticed that when i started to go it seemed as if the brakes were pulsing a little. When i stopped i got out and could smell and feel a large difference in temperature in the two front tires. The drivers side was incredibly hot while the passenger side was without smell and not hot. I was told this could have to do with the anti-lock brakes(a module or something in each wheel) by a friend and it happened to his dodge. What do you think does this sound right? i called the shop and they said it could be a number of things, i will be pulling the wheel off and checking soon.
